You don't need a high-end digital camera for a good looking video.
Three megapixels will do a fine job.
Try to take pictures of : People smiling and or doing something; also places that are interesting.
A posed picture is nice; but to many can become monotonous.
Scam Alert: On vacation out in those far off places. Photographers will offer to take pictures for cheap then email them to you over the WEB for a price.
Don't do it! The Photographer may demand over $2000.00 for a set of his pictures. Buy a nice digital camera for your vacation; it's money well spent.

DVDs are #1. There here to stay for the long haul.
Do Not Let Your Photos Die In The Digital Camera.
Around 90% of digital photos never leave the cameras; or there saved in some file that you or one of the kids deletes by accident. Printing photos can cost $$$BIG DOLLARS$$$ for the ink and that doesn't include photo paper. Forty-five to fifty pictures can cost over a hundred dollars.
You can spend Thousands of dollars on a vacation and where do the photos go? In the closet stuffed in a box? Maybe you use them as a screen saver? That's not a vary FUN place for your vacation memories to wind up.
Put them somewhere you and others can enjoy them. At your next party instead of turning the BIG SCREEN off. Why not have your photos available for family and friends to view them on the Big Screen?
PS. Your DVD comes with one of your Photos Printed on it.
It will even have a title. For Example:"Andersons in
the Bahama"
